Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm | 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Anaconda MT
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting in surgical operations under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse. They prepare the operating room, sterilize equipment, and assist in surgical procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up surgical instruments and equipment before procedures.
2. Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
3. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.
4. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide necessary instruments and supplies.
5. Assist in patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
6. Handle specimens for laboratory analysis.
7. Keep accurate records of procedures and supplies used.
8. Assist in the cleaning and restocking of the operating room.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
10. Communicate effectively with team members and patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work well in a team setting.
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment.
8. Physical stamina and dexterity.
9. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
10. Willingness to continue education and training in the field.
